Modem Trouble Shooting

 

  1. Communication Difficulty Please try again later

Possible Problems:

·        Bad connection from wall to modem

·        Bad connection at the splitter (If one is being used)

·        Bad phone line

·        Have not bypassed the serge protector

·        May have to dial 9 to get out

·        Have not downloaded Comm. Keys

·        If sharing with a fax or credit card machine may be interfering

·        Using wrong master keys

  1. Fix

·        Reset the ATM, watch for errors on the screen.

·        Check phone jack to the modem

·        Try running the phone line into the jack without the splitter (if there is a splitter)

·        Bypass the serge protector by taking out the small 15 inch phoneline. Then Run the phoneline straight from the wall to the modem.

·        Check with a phone, is there dial tone at the wall jack then check it at the modem.

·        Make sure on the modem there is one red light on and the first and last green light is on when the ATM is in ready mode.(See picture below)

 

You can test the ATM with an ATM card and do a balance inqury or get into management screen and download comm. keys on Access Level 1. Make sure download says successful.
